Tools We Use To Get Stuff Done

At ZURB we're all about getting stuff done and keeping things moving. We use a number of tools which have proved to help us get stuff done quickly and easily. We figured since these tools really help us we should share them with you.

CampaignMonitor — we use this for all of our email invitations we send out for ZURBsoapbox events as well as communication with our Notable and Verify customers. This tool recently added A/B testing which allows to test a certain subject line or content with a subset of people before you email the entire group.

Silverback — we use this for recording our user tests. Our goal of user testing is to identify trouble spots in an application or site we're working on for a client. This tool works allows us to quickly record and upload the user tests we conduct to show our clients. It's best to have a clickable prototype or a functioning website to for this type of testing.

OmniGraffle — we use this for creating our mockups and layouts. We typically use this for hi-fi wireframes. It has a great user-created (and easy to add to) library of stencils that makes wireframing significantly faster than a lot of other tools.

ClickDummy — we are still experimenting with this tool for our user tests. Sometimes we have the hi-fi wireframes but no clickable prototype yet. In order to conduct a user test you need to have a clickable prototype. This tool lets us build a clickable prototype pretty quickly, and there is hardly a learning curve to start using it.

It goes without saying that we use Notable every day for iterating through website feedback and Verify for testing the comprehension of a website we're working on. Got a tool which helps you get stuff done? Go ahead and give us a shout.

Click dummy is super-sweet. Thanks for the hot tip! I'm wishing them the best, but also wishing they stay in beta long enough for me to take them for a few test spins in the field :)

Not established enough to justify cool tools like Notable, but I'll definitely be back once I get on my feet! Cheers!

Oh, and PS -- get a Facebook page so that I can spread the word on you guys! Yeesh... social media what? :P

Dmitry (ZURB) says

Glad to help Pat. ClickDummy is indeed a nice little tool. You mention you're not "established" enough for Notable? Could you elaborate?

P.S. Working on that FB page. I assume you already follow @zurb and @notableapp on twitter?
