New Features in Influence: PDF/PPT Upload and Collaboration by Dmitry

Since the launch of Influence over a week ago we have been diligently going through all the feedback gathered from people we let in to the app and incorporating all of it into the app. Today we’d like to take a few minutes to share some of the new features and updates we have added to Influence since the launch.

You can now upload PDF and PPT documents to Influence

It used to be that you could only upload JPG, GIFs, and PNGs to create design presentations in Influence. Starting today you can upload PDF or PPT files. The uploader will parse your files and display the individual screens of your preso.

You can now invite your team members to your Influence account

This feature makes it very easy to collaborate with your team as you create new design presentations and digest the feedback you receive. This invitation process is very similar to the one all the Notable customers are used to, here is how it works:

1. Click on "Your Team" in upper right corner.

2. Click on "Add Team Member" on the Team Members screen.

3. Enter the email of a team member you want to join your account.

4. The team member will get an email notifying them that you invited them to join your account.

5. The team member will need to setup their password to access Influence.

6. You can view who you have invited to your account by clicking the "Your Team" just like you did in step 1.

We are continuing to let people in to Influence as we gather feedback. We appreciate your patience if you have singed up and have not been let in yet. If you are absolutely dying to get in or have a few comments or questions about the app please give us a shout at support@influenceapp.com.

Influence Private Release Has Been On Fire! by Dmitry

It’s been an unbelievable week since we launched the private release of Influence. As the press caught word of our private release, thousands of tweets spreading the news. Here are just some highlights from past week:

Web.Appstorm (way out in Thailand) picked up the news first and asked us for an invite to take a peek at the app. They were the first ones to share the app with their readers. It was a pleasure to see the 9 out of 10 rating that they gave Influence after their thorough review.

Read Write Web picked up the news later on and shared Influence with their 1M+ readers. David Storm, who is a big fan of Reel, absolutely loved the idea behind Influence.

Smashing Magazine picked up the news next and shared Influence with their audience.

The Next Web wrote up an epic article on Influence yesterday (one of the best yet). An amazingly thorough article with a great amount of detail!

As the word spread more and more many others started to tweet Influence around. One of these many others was our good friend Neil Patel CEO and Co-Founder of KISSmetrics and Crazyegg who shared Influence with his followers.

We’d like to thank everyone who has been tweeting, writing about, and sharing Influence with their friends, followers, and readers. It’s absolutely amazing to see so much traffic, press love, and tweets about Influence that we just launched in private release.

We get it, every Verify user wants quality results on their test and they want them fast. Over the past few months, we worked hard to make it dead simple to get fast, high-quality results on your tests. We are pleased to announce that, starting today, you can buy test results from testers within Verify! Here is how it works:

You create your concept test as usual. When you get to the Audience tab you’ll see a new option to Purchase Results:

Go ahead and check the checkbox next to the option and select how many results you want to get. You can either choose 25 or 50 test results. The price for the test results will be $1 per test result on all the test types except the longer Linked Tests which will cost $5 per test result.

Fill out your billing information and you’ll be all set to buy the test results.

That’s all! You can sit back and watch the test results roll in. You should get your results within 24 hours of ordering. Testers who are passionate about products will take your concept test and will give you the best feedback they can to help you make a decision.

How KISSmetrics Uses Verify by Dmitry

Hiten Shah, the CEO and Co-Founder of KISSmetrics is a good friend of ours.

Lately he has been using Verify quite frequently to figure out if certain homepage changes make sense to implement. He's been thrilled with the results, so we decided to do a quick little interview with him to find out how he is using Verify.

How do you use Verify?

I first learned about Verify because I am a big fan of ZURB and the ZURBlog. I needed to test a design before releasing new functionality on our homepage, I decided to try Verify. Worked out great, we've been using it ever since.

We love to use it to essentially "pre-test" designs before updates are made on our live website. Helps us create more educated A/B tests for our website.

How is Verify working out for you so far?

Verify is great, it helps me understand how visitors are going to react to a new design or change. It really helps me get early learnings on a new design without actually releasing the design on my website.

Workspaces are the best way to keep your team (and yourself!) organized while working on multiple projects in Notable, but we've heard time and again that we made it too difficult for you to go from one workspace to another. Not anymore ... check out this image.

Today, we launched this new drop-down list that makes this problem a thing of the past! Hover your mouse over the "Home" button and you'll see a list of the 15 most recently active workspace in your account. At the bottom of the list, we've included a link over to the new workspace page that we announced last week. This feature is now live, so log in to your Notable account and check it out!

Introducing Influence: Controlling How You Get Feedback from Clients and Teammates by Dmitry

We're excited to announce the private release of our newest app Influence — a quick way to present new design ideas for feedback, control the feedback you receive from clients and teammates, and make sense of all the feedback from one actionable summary.

Let's take a look at the three features of the app:

Simple Way to Upload Mockups Into a Presentation

Uploading mockups is as easy as 1, 2, 3. To get started, log onto Influence, then choose the device your mockups have been formatted to fit — such as "phone" like in the picture below.

Once you continue to the next screen, you can simply upload the mockups, screens, or slides to your presentation by clicking the "add screens" button. You can also choose the background color of your presentation.

Quickly Control How You Present and Receive Feedback

With Influence, you can choose whether you want people to leave feedback or if you just want to present your mockups to your teammates or clients. There are numerous ways you can get feedback with Influence:

  1. If you want to guide people through a few mockups over the phone without soliciting feedback, then you can throw up a few screens, share a private link with them, and control what they see on their screens as you talk to them. Check out this example.

  2. Maybe you don't want to get on the phone, but still want to get people's feedback on a few visual explorations. They can then give a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" on your mockups. If you want more detailed feedback, then you can let people leave a comment on each mockup after they give their "thumbs up" or "thumbs down." Check out this example.

  3. When it comes to your final wireframes, you might need some very detailed feedback. Well, in that case, you can give your clients or teammates some specific directions and allow them to annotate each mockup in your design presentation. Check out this example.

Collect, Review, and Iterate On Your Feedback

It's not easy to sort through dozens of notes and comments to figure out what people think about your mockups. With Influence, you'll be able to summarize all your thumbs up, annotations, and comments in one place. This handy little summary will help you filter quickly through the different types of feedback and help drive the design process forward.

The feedback summary helps you see a complete picture of all the feedback which allows you to easily integrate your feedback into your mockups or presentation.

We're letting early adopters in today to take the app for a spin and to get feedback from them. For now, sign up and we'll let you in soon! We look forward to hearing what you think of Influence!

Bulk Image Uploading in Notable by Dmitry

A number of you have asked us about about an easy way to upload a bulk of images, mockups, screens, designs into Notable with a single click. We have to say the bulk uploader is one of our favorite ways to get stuff into the app so that we can give and get feedback on it. Check out how this nifty feature works in this short screencast below:
